The new permanent exhibition of the Archaeological Museum of Chios entitled "Chios' t Inopion underwater city" was inaugurated in October 1999 and includes the most representative samples of art and everyday life on the island from the Final Neolithic period until the late Roman period. The exhibits come from excavations of the Ephorate in private lands and in public works, the systematic excavations of the British School of Archaeology at Emporio, in Fana, the Holy Galas in Dotia and Kofina from the excavations of the Archaeological Society in Rizari and in Fana, from contemplation of the extraordinary curator Stephen and private traditions.
